the single most important question to everything is why. why we are here, why we need an answer to everything, why it needs to be answered, why we can't just let it go. i think that, as a human that is our gut reaction, to ask why, and then wonder about the answer, instead of taking it at its face value. i suppose that you could argue that why is not the most important question, as it is too broad, and too far fetched, but it is the question that we need to answer, before we can find the truth.

  • a question for the class. why does things end up harder than they need to be? they end up so twisted and in the end, who can really remember why they were upset in the first place?

  1. Well, in answer to your question:

Because they do. We don't know why we're here, who we are, what our purpose is, we don't even know why most things happen.

I guess the REAL answer is because humans are complicated.

  2. The more complicated people make things the more that person feels he or she has made some sort of impact in the lives around them. Be that their true intention or happening upon it by accident, or never really knowing what their doing.

  3. Heartspell, nice point. It's interesting to think that people complicate things intentionally in order to feel as though we are influencing people and events more strongly; this is probably also the reason people stir up drama and overreact to things that bother us.

I also think things are complicated because we think too much. In the majority of instances in my life, when I think a problem is insurmountable or an issue is more than I can bear, it is because I am including too many other problems in it -- for instance, I have trouble sleeping sometimes, and I also worry about my classes. It shouldn't be any surprise that I worry most about my classes on the days when I haven't slept well the night before, or that my classes go badly when I'm tired and cranky, which leads me to worry about how I can make the class better. The best answer in my case is: sleep. Once I get more sleep, and some distance from the issue, it doesn't seem so bad. Which is why people give that incredibly annoying but also effective advice to wait when things seem terrible, to sleep on it, to give it time. Because it works.

  4. Because people think to much. Because you are so caught up into whatever you are upset about you can't really see what you want.

  5. Well basically things end up worse than they need to be because people think that if they tell a simple white lie it will make things better when it completely blows things up. Then one person hears something you didnt say or mean and they get angry then you try to explain but by that point its to late and your in even deeper. And thats why.

  6. I agree with what Josh said. People tend to overthink things and get too caught up in the "hidden meanings" that they forget what the obvious and usually most correct meaning is so problems can easily escalate into catastrophies just because someone takes too seriously a comment that was made or over analyzes something that was said.

  7. when I find things are complicated, I'm usually over thinking. If life wasn't complicated, what fun would that be? There wouldn't be drama, teenage skank, or stuff to consume our minds. If life wasn't hard, we wouldn't be as strong a people. We can either be strengthened or broken in this life of ours.

  8. I think why things end up harder and more twisted up in the end is because we try to make things to complicated and then the person who asked or said something trys to make it more complex and then it just takes off from there. We dont relize that we do it till the end and just leave it be.

  9. We make them harder because we try to understand up, but sometimes you can't.

  10. I think why life end up harder, because we make it more difficult than it needs to be. Sometimes if we took the time to actually stop, and think about it, it would do us all some improvement. I tend to notice when I stress on the situation or plan, it ends up twisted. We all just need to stop, and take a deep breath.

  11. I don't feel like I need to answer the question 'why?' But I usually look at from a philosophical or a biological view. My philosophical view is that there isn't any particular reason why we are here. We just are. Biologically, I think, we are here to survive and reproduce.

  12. I think things are harder for a reason. It helps us grow and learn. Most likely whatever it is that is hard will work out in the end and everything will be alright.

  13. because we make it that way. we tend to do that.

  14. I'm not sure there truly is a reason we are here, if there is one then i think figuring it out IS the point. If that makes sense at all.

  15. Things end up complicated because we humans make them so.

  16. It's because we think too much about the problem and it grows to become a huge problem until you talk about it or vent to someone, and then when you talk about it or vent, you feel kind of better, but that person probably makes and even bigger deal about the problem and so it just gets twisted and grows and so on...
I don't know... For some instances. lol

  17. Good question. People are hard to understand, I don't know the anwer, but that's what makes life fun. :)

  18. I think we make them harder than necessary because it is in our nature to. It seems like we expect that everything is a challenge now days and so we make them challenge us. Weather or not it was meant to be one. I don't usually remember why I was so mad in the first place, and that usually maakes the other person mad. Why is a very important question to me.

  19. Hmm,i dunno... because we make them that way? That's my best bet.

  20. all things, even the most simple, are much more complicated than us as humans can come to understand

  21. People over react and make bigger deals out of things then they need to. Also people like the attention and drama.

  22. People who make a large deal out of nothing are generally degrading themselves as to the people who take the high road and deal with whatever the issue is make themselves stronger. I think that's why things get complicated, to test you.
