Why make regrets?
I feel that regrets aren't a necessity for life. Yes, mistakes happen, but you learn from them and move on. When you make regrets you are holding a negative part of the past and letting it follow you through your future. I prefer to be optomistic and focus on the life ahead of me rather than a poor memory of a mistake I had previously made; wheather that be from one day ago or three years. So what's the point?

Regret is tiring for your emotions. Asking yourself 'What if?' for certain things in your past can be tiring for your mind and emotions.
ReplyDeleteI have regrets from years ago and I wish they would go away. There is no point other than to make you learn from your mistakes and try to act on your present situations so that later in life, you don't end up having more regrets. So far it's been working out.
I find myself regretting things only because it's in most human's nature.
ReplyDeleteI can't really help but regret, but I like this quote:
"Do not brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill your mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in the future." - Sivananda
I feel as if you can't always help yourslef from regretting things because we all have consciences and know the right from wrong and if we do something wrong, or undesirable that wil always stick with us. Maybe it is good to regret it so you wont do it agian....?
ReplyDeleteThe real question is: why regret your regrets? The more you think about it, the more you wonder why you waste your time regretting this past action -- the more time you waste in regretting. So remember the mistake, regret it, and then move on to bigger and better mistakes in the future. We all have to learn to accept things, yes -- but the first thing we must accept is ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThe things you regret are usually the things you most likely remember the most, regrets also usually tell you something about your life. Whether they are good or bad things i cannot say, I regret moving from Beaverton to St. Helens but, I've found things in St. Helens I never had in Beaverton.
ReplyDeletesimple, to try and keep from doing similar things again.
ReplyDeleteI think making regrets is part of life, though for awile I regret some of things I do, then I get over it. I realize I can't go back and change it. I move on, and keep living my life.
ReplyDeleteRegretting may be unnesacarry, but I find it unavoidable.
ReplyDeleteRegrets are used to stop you from making the same mistake again.
ReplyDeleteI think regrets are just something we all have because at one point or another we've all done something REALLY stupid.
ReplyDeleteI try not to have regrets but sometimes I just can't stop it. Maybe regrets are so that you don't make the same mistake twice.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of regrets, but i try my best to learn from those so i can better myself. I don't like people saying stuff like, "don't think about regrets" or something like that because it has helped me by no making the same mistake again, as Kyle said.
ReplyDeleteregret is human. it is something our culture created and can be controlled but in a way you cant get away from it
ReplyDeleteWhy make regrets good question. You shouldnt! Theres no point you cant go back in time!
ReplyDeleteI try not to! but they just come so easily.
ReplyDeleteI figure that regrets are just a more difficult way to go about learning from things. You could always take it as a learning experience or find another way to grow as a person OR you could regret it.
ReplyDeleteI try to live my life as I want. If I live to my hearts desire at one moment then I'd probably consider myself an idiot for wanting to regret something I wanted or needed.
But that's just me.
i dont like to regret things.. its just aded stress ... i wish i could just remove that enotion from my body
ReplyDeleteI think that to regret is part of human nature and the question should be: is there any point in regretting things. We do not have much control over our regrets. It has more to do with our personality.
