Well, I'm just gonna start off with the whole, black cat thing.
My best friend has 2 black cats, and I haven't gotten any sort of bad luck from them, except probably the fact that I have tripped, but that is most likely because of the fact that it needs to be cleaned, bad.
The superstition that if you walk under a ladder, it will fall on you, I find to make perfect sense. I mean, if you walk under someone whose using the ladder for some sort of activity, they could out of nowhere totally just fall then crush you, then you couldn't breath, then you'd go to the hospital, then almost die, but the doctor save you. Yeah, that would ruin my day completely.
Personally, I find the objects to be used as "good luck charms" to be bogus. How does a rabbit's foot give you good luck. Isn't that kind of ironic, how that rabbit would have to probably been killed or hunted to obtain that foot, and it gives you good luck?
In the end, I don't really believe in all the superstition stuff. I do believe in bad luck, but it's not occurred by specific actions or objects.
Every time I see a rabbit's foot, I think of this

thats a cute little rabbit! I think thats how you spell it.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet bunny. And by the way, the ladder thing is not a warning against the ladder falling on you, it is because a ladder propped against a wall forms a triangle with the wall and the ground, and a triangle is an ancient symbol of life, and also representative of the Christian trinity (Father son holy ghost). When you walk under the ladder, you are breaking the triangle, and thus risking bad luck.
