Hmmm, believe that I would be the theatrical masks. For the most part i am happy, but if i am not, I wont let anyone see it. Hence, the opposite, simultanious emotion. I still will try to be as nice as possible to the people I interact with, but it will not be genuine emotion.
As for the truth/lies topic:
Lies that build are better than truths that destroy.

Why do you conceal your true self from others? I know why I do it: it is because my bad mood should not, in my mind, detract from my students' opportunities to learn what I have to teach, so I try to conceal my unhappiness (generally my anger) while I am teaching. When I am not teaching, I conceal very little of my emotion. Why do you do it?
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the proverb, but I want an example of a lie that builds.
I can definately see why you might conceal your emotions, and your reason is totally just. I hide because all to often, I am not in the best of moods. Under these circomstances I do not care if I say anything that might hurt or upset someone. In simpleton terms, I am a jerk. When i am in a good mood, I regret the bridges that I have burned, and the some what ruthless thing that I have done. So, I hide what I wan't to say, because more often than naught they do not deserve my intolerance.
ReplyDeleteI believe that chivalry and royalty is a lie that built. For the entire caste system was built on the "lie" that one man was better than the rest. Even though i don't agree with it, it organized people into creating the three things that animals(humans in this instance) need to servive. Shelter, food, and water. Not only was this sustained, but it was provided for a mass quanity of people. Because these needs were met, they were able to focus on other things such as education, and culture. Without the progress that was made, they could help build and shape the modern era.but that is just my oppinion
