In my poinion school spirit is important, it pumps up the teams competing that week, and get everyone involved in the school. It's really annoying when people sit and talk when people are performing and trying to talk though.
but i do think school spirit is important.

karleigh, in this school "spirit" is only directed at sports when more than half of the school couldn't even point to america on a map!i'm not saying making pep assemblies all about academics but we just take a little more care to education and not sports.
ReplyDeletei like karleigh's veiw of school spirit, i know when it was the soccer assembly it pumped us up for our games and i am pretty sure the varsity girls went out and won and the jv girls tied. I am ust saying. and it is anoying when people just sit and talk when they are announcing the princeses to see who everyone voted for. thats als disrespect, and I am pretty sure most kids could point out america!!! Just saying.
ReplyDeletePeople can point out America when the lines and colors and words are on the map, yes, but when you take away the decorations, and just show someone a topographical map, they have more trouble -- especially if the map isn't the familiar Mercator projection of the Earth. A lot of people think Canada is part of the US in those cases. I don't know about our students at this school, but I do know for a fact that a large percentage of them have never read a book voluntarily, and an even larger percentage do not pass Sophomore English the first time around, even when the teacher is very, very easy.
ReplyDeleteOh: and it's disrespectful and annoying when students talk over someone else, but that happens every second of every school day; hy single out the Homecoming princess list?
All of you need to stop saying "I'm just saying." I'm putting that in the topic this week.
