Topic 15:
I think that most people answered the way that i will, being that they can be good or bad. Them being bad i think does not directly have to do with the video games themselves, but the actions that occur with them (excessive drinking of soda pop, staying up late chugging energy drinks, etc..), albeit i think they can be bad in themselves by excessive playing.
Being a gamer, as i would imagine most of the teenage population is, i can say they can be very good. You can learn a lot from them. I did a speech on this very topic in 8th grade. I pointed out that MMORPG'S(massively multi-player online role playing games) could help you in several different aspects. One of the main ones being interactions and working as a team. In mmorpg's you have to work as group in many situations to be able to conquer what you desire. So you learn valuable skills that way. Another main point from the speech was money management. It could teach you how to save up for things that you want, and realize you need to set some cash aside for necessity's. I could see FPS(first person shooters aka call of duty) gaming being a different story.
Most people who do not game don't realize some of these aspects of gaming. They all seem pretty dead set on the typical stereotypical 27 year old failure living in his mothers basement. I'd bet if some of the people who are against gaming would be sat down and saw some of these things there opinions on this topic might change. But i'm getting off topic now, i say video games (for the most part) are good.
Heh, well i guess this was pointless as its the new semester. Oh well.
